World Festival of Sacred Music 2010 - Shakers and Bakers directed by John Allen produced by Bella LeNestour "Often multi-sectioned, with abrupt and frequent changes in tempo, time signature and tonal center, Vision Songs, also referred to as “Gift songs” may also feature lyrics in ‘inspired’ languages attributed by the Shakers to African, Native American, and extraterrestrial sources." While it’s not sure how historically accurate Lederer and LaRose’s adaptations are, it’s powerful and amazing stuff and we chose to film them to explore the metaphysical aspect of those Vision Songs. Shakers and Bakers performed at the Los Angeles World Festival of Sacred Music in 2010.
